Postcards

Did an event happen if a novel piece of mail art did not announce and commemorate it?
These postcard designs launched a call to action through small-scale artwork and messages that complemented the subject matter.

Art Exhibit Postcards: The University of Delaware’s Office of Publications provides printing services for the University Gallery. I created a series of posters and postcards to promote the University of Delaware’s Art Gallery and exhibiting artists.

Delaware Center for the Contemporary Arts (DCCA). Fine art exhibition of selected graduate students. I used positive and negative space to fill the DCCA gallery with its participating artists.

Homeless: Portraits of Americans in Hard Times. Photography exhibition by Howard Schatz. I complemented the image through the usage of typography and color. The typography follows the lines of the image and the sepia color enhances the worn portrait.

Not Yet Famous Artists Revealed. Art exhibition of undergraduate students. I used the concept of a rorschach to provide the viewer with the challenge of seeing the artists’ talents.

Annual Faculty Exhibition Poster. This exhibition is a presentation by the Art Department’s faculty members. The artists are each represented with one of their pieces. I selected a poem and a black & white palette to unify the five images; “The whole art of teaching is only the art of awakening the natural curiosity of the mind.”
